Marion (Daniels) Hankins was born August 11, 1934, in Sharon PA to the late William and Margaret Daniels. She transitioned this life on February 24, 2024.
Marion attended school in Farrell, PA until the 8th grade, when she and her mother relocated to Boston to take care of her grandmother. Marion continued her education in the Boston Public School system, graduating from Roxbury Memorial High School.
After graduation, Marion was employed at the following companies: John Hancock; First National Bank; BCBS; Sunnyside Day Care Center and lastly, Tufts University HNRCA as a Budget Administrator/Operational Coordinator for 42 years until her passing.
During her employment at John Hancock, she met and married Irvin Hankins (deceased). From this union she had four children: Steven (deceased), Donna (deceased), Brian and Pamela.
Marion became active in the Boston Public School system for special needs children. She also was a community worker for the Tonawanda, Bloomfield and Dakota streets neighborhood organization. She loved serving the community.
After the death of her husband, Marion shifted her focus on being the prominent caregiver to her mother (Margaret Daniels) and her grandchildren.
Marion attended Morningstar Baptist Church (1981) under the pastoral leadership of John M. Borders, III, where she served on various ministries.
In 2016 Marion became a certified stockbroker. She really enjoyed the hunt!! She also enjoyed hosting her annual cookouts from May through September, she organized various trips, loved to read, dance, travel and loved sharing her nuggets of wisdom for all who had ears. Marion developed a personal relationship with everyone she came in contact with. She was the mother to the community and truly a giver of herself.
Marion leaves behind her two children, Brian Hankins (Renee) and Pamela Swain (Victor). Her Brother Sanford Daniels (Martha). Her grandchildren Darnell, William, Deyon, Reshana, Jamell, Marquis, Stevi, Desmond and Victor Jr. Several great-grandchildren, brother and sisters-in-law, niece and nephews, cousins, her bestie Mable Walker, extended children and grandchildren and a host of other friends she loved dearly.
