Obituary

Marie Michèle Dubresil was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on March 4, 1962, to her father, Prévius Dubresil, and her mother, Giralda Dolciné. The youngest of six children (including her twin brother, Michel, who preceded her in death), she leaves to mourn her brothers and sisters: Sylvain Dubresil (Canada), Ginette Dubresil Augustin (Boston, Massachusetts), Wilner Dubresil (New York), and Esbert Dubresil (Haiti).

Marie Michèle grew up in a family deeply shaped by the Roman Catholic faith. In her youth, she had the privilege of meeting Jesus Christ and accepting Him as her Lord and Savior.

Her spiritual journey truly began in the early 1990s. At that time, a dynamic and passionate young woman, Marie Michèle served the Lord under the leadership of Pastor Charles Septembre at the Église de la Sainteté Pentecostale de Bon Repos. Through her commitment and fervor, she already had a great influence on all who had the privilege of crossing her path.

A few years later, Marie Michèle settled in Delmas 3. There again, under the leadership of Pastor Jean Adrien Denis of the Église Baptiste des Rachetés, she made a difference in the women's group through her zeal, her devotion, and her deep attachment to the work of God.

Returning to the Plaine du Cul-de-Sac in the summer of 1995, Marie Michèle joined the Église Évangélique Union des Chrétiens en Action (EEUCA), led by Pastor Ychemy Saintil, and later the Église de l'Unité Chrétienne, led by Pastor Paulin D. Mathurin. There she continued her ministry and her considerable spiritual, social, and emotional influence, both among the beloved members of these congregations, where she served as secretary and coordinator of many women's ministry groups, and among the many nieces and nephews in her care, whom she surrounded with her affection.

In 2018, Marie Michèle moved to the United States and settled in Boston. She passed away on October 20, 2026, from complications of an illness she bore with courage.

Marie Michèle is survived by her two sons, Mackenson Régistre and Valery Dubresil, as well as many nieces and nephews, including Patrice Augustin and his wife Mildride, Ronald Prévilus, Edner Dubresil, Daphnée Dubresil, Stanley Dubresil and his wife Angie, Ricardo Dubresil, Grégoire Augustin, François W. Augustin and his wife Stania, Esberica Dubresil, Wilgie Augustin, and Melissa Dubresil. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Bernadette L. Dubresil and Dieudonne Dubresil; her mother, Giralda Dolciné; and a great many friends, in-laws, and well-wishers.

May her soul rest in eternal peace. Her memory will forever be engraved in our hearts.
