Obituary

Marian Betty Seay, born July 21, 1934, was the first of five children to the union of Howard and Mary Seay, in Blakely, GA.  Marian loved school, as she excelled in her studies. She was often chosen to substitute teach for the lower grades. After graduating from Washington High School, she moved to Boston, MA where she continued her education. Marian graduated from Simmons College, majoring in business. She was employed with John Hancock Insurance Company.

Marian joined Columbus Avenue A.M.E. Zion Church, upon moving to Boston, under Pastor James C. Brown. Marian was very active at her beloved "Columbus Ave". She was a member of the combined choir, the Women's usher board, and several committees, locally and nationally. Marian was the church secretary for many years. Marian loved GOD, her family, and church family. She was always ready to help and serve. She remained a faithful member, until her death.

Marian was preceded in death by her father, Howard W. Seay, mother, Mary F. Seay, brother Henry R. Seay, Sister in love JoAnne W, Seay, and sister, Grace L. Seay.

Cherishing the memories of a life well lived are one brother, Emory W. Seay, one sister Mary (Haywood) Harvey, and a sister in love, Edna M. Seay, eight nieces and one nephew; Cheryl Harvey, Adrienne (Ron) Holland, Sharon Seay, Angela Seay, David (Richelle) Seay, Michele (Darrell) Smith, Elaine Jenkins, Hillary (Terrance) Myrick, and Haley Reynolds. Nephews in love Pernell Jenkins and Marlon Reynolds. She also leaves to cherish her memory seventeen great nieces and nephews, Durrell, Cory, David, Ty, Darius, Dakota, Alijah, Jaelyn, RJ, Sydney, Jordan, Kennedy, Taryn, Kollen, Kaycee, Brycen, and Winsten, two great, great nephews and a niece, Christopher, Theodore, and Marie, and a host of relatives and friends.
