Maggaree (Byrd)
Richardson
Apr 14, 1946 — Mar 3, 2026
Roslindale
Maggaree (Byrd) Richardson was born on April 14, 1946, in Cheraw, South Carolina, to the late John Byrd and the late Ida Bessie Byrd.
Maggaree found great joy in fishing and gardening, two hobbies she was deeply passionate about. On warm days, she could often be found with a fishing pole in hand, ready to make her next catch. She also had a remarkable green thumb and took pride in tending to her garden with dedication and care. Maggaree was a strong-minded woman, full of love and light. Many of her family members and friends looked to her for guidance and understanding. She was deeply loved and will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Maggaree was preceded in death by her daughter, Felicia K. Richardson; six brothers, James Byrd, J.C. Byrd, Willie Byrd, Walter Byrd, John Byrd, and Lester Byrd; five sisters, Peggy Louis Byrd, Corrin Byrd-Ford, Agnes Campbell, Ethel Frederick, and Alma Byrd; and one sister-in-law, Joyce E. Richardson.
Maggaree departed this life and entered eternal rest on March 3, 2026, at the age of 79.
Left to cherish her loving memory are her devoted husband of fifty years, Herman I. Richardson; three sons, Lennis Byrd, Warren Byrd, and Marcus Richardson; five grandchildren, Makeada, Jalaysha, Makayla, Jocelyn, and Rmya; four great-grandchildren, Jaheim, Nova, Furquam, and Lasha; two sisters, Queen Byrd-Drake and Edna Byrd-Taylor; two sisters-in-law, Diane Richardson and Shirley Richardson-Nea; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
