With profound sadness and deep gratitude for a well lived life, we announce the passing of Linda Marie Walker-Hamilton, a devoted mother, cherished family member, loyal friend and beloved pillar of many communities. Linda was a devoted and loving big sister to Richard, Eugenia, Stanley and Nathan. As the children of a military family, they shared a childhood filled with adventure, living in Germany, Japan, California and several other places around the world. No matter where life took them, the bond they shared as siblings remained a source of strength, love and treasured memories.  Following her heart, on June 13, 1983, Linda relocated from Maryland to Massachusetts with her daughters, Cecelia, Nicole, Lisa, Stacy and Theresa. One of the greatest blessings of Linda's life was being reunited with her firstborn son, Robert Barksdale. It was a joyful homecoming for our family that brought immeasurable love and healing to her heart. In the early 90’s, she relocated to Mattapan, Massachusetts, where she built a life with her forever partner, Dennis Phillips. Over the years, Linda was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Professionally, she built a lifelong career in property management and development, earning the respect and admiration of those who worked alongside her. Throughout those years, she became an essential part of the community and was known for her unwavering willingness to help others. She cultivated meaningful relationships whether lending a helping hand or simply sharing her warm smile, she touched the lives of countless neighbors, friends, work colleagues and many other loved ones.

Although Linda’s physical presence will be greatly missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her including many cherished cousins throughout California, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Maryland and Virginia, as well as her beloved nieces and nephews in Boston, North Carolina and beyond.

Each of us held a special place in her heart. We are all part of Linda’s family because she treasured the bonds we all shared with her. So, we ask that you continue to honor her legacy by remembering the love, strength and wisdom she shared throughout her life. With God’s good grace and mercy, may she rest in eternal peace, knowing she remains deeply loved and by this Linda Marie, you will never be forgotten.
