Laura May Hill was born on March 18, 1962, in Cleveland, Mississippi, to the late Walter James Dowdell and the late Elizabeth Dowdell. She was the sixth youngest child of seven children, the last baby girl and she was undoubtedly treated as such. She was a daddy's girl to the heart. In 1969 the family relocated to Boston MA, where she attended Roxbury High School and graduated in 1980.

As a young adult Laura worked at Mass Mental Hospital in the sanitation department, she then went on to work at the VA hospital. Most of her adult life was spent as a caregiver for her family.

At a young age Laura mastered the art of speaking her mind and she always shot from the hip and never missed her target. Although she attempted to show tough love, she was a softie on the inside, her mind and heart were always with her family. Laura was very loyal and took care of those she loved with so much love and had a giving heart. You could always go to her house for a visit and she'd feed you whether you were hungry or not and you had no choice but to leave with a care package. She truly was her mother's child in that sense. She loved to laugh and have a good time and enjoyed listening to her main man Elvis.

On December 29, 2023, Laura was called home. She is preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth and father, Walter, as well as her siblings; W.L, Josie, and Dorothy.

She leaves to mourn her husband of 40 years, Ronald Williams of Boston, three children Mary Nel, Maceo and Monica Hill of Boston. Her siblings: Betty, Hattie, and Jessie Hill of Boston. As well as 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandson and a host of nieces, nephews, close family members and friends
