Johnny Houston Burks age 80 passed away on January 10th, 2024, in his home. He was born in Tallassee, AL to Walt S. Burks (Deceased) of East Tallassee, AL and Roberta Cobb Burks (Deceased) of Notasulga, AL. Together Walt and Roberta had a total of six boys. Johnny attended and graduated from Wall Street High School.

Johnny would go on to live in Atlanta, Georgia, and Detroit, Michigan before settling in Boston, Massachusetts. Where he had his only child Tonja Banks-Hector.

Johnny worked at a Quincy shipyard and as a maintenance-man at the Mission Park community apartment. After retiring from the Mission Park community apartments, he picked up a part time job handing out the newspaper at Jackson square station for the Boston Metro before leaving that position to fully enjoy his retirement.

Johnny leaves behind one daughter Tonja Banks-Hector and her husband Ronald Hector, one grandson Malik Hector and his wife Tamala Hector, and a granddaughter Miko Hector and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
