Jeffrey Alan Marvel, born August 4, 1961 on March Air Force Base in Riverside, California, passed away peacefully holding his daughter and his older sister hands on Monday, May 25th, 2026 at Boston Medical Center. This day ended the 10 months battle he fought against esophageal cancer.

Born of the union between AnnMarie Smith-Marvel and Benard Marvel, he was the 3rd of 5 children. From Riverside to Japan, to Boston, to North Carolina, back to Boston Jeffrey lived a fulfilling life from which came 2 biological children and 2 bonus children.

Jeffrey started his education at Kanto Mura Air Force Base in Fuchu, Japan where he attended Elementary School. After moving to Boston, MA he attended the Trotter, followed by the Wheatland School, and finally graduating from Copley High School. Jeffrey then enlisted in the Navy, proudly serving his country from July 1979 to April 1981. His final tour of duty was in Okinawa, Japan, after which he was honorably discharged.

To know Jeffrey is to have known that he had three great loves in his life; his job, the Cowboys, and his family. From the year 1994 his life changed forever when he got full custody of his daughter, Leila. She became his pride and joy, teaching her everything she knows today. He never missed a moment with her, even though him working multiple jobs. He instilled a good work ethic in his daughter as well, through showing her you can work and still have time for fun. He prided himself on that. Jeffrey and his son Trentis shared a special bond of love of fine antique swords. Also, they shared a love for the military as Trentis is also a Marine and National Guard Veteran. Jeffrey and his loving wife Angie spent 33 years together where in that time they spent many wonderful vacations together.

Throughout his life he worked a lot of jobs before he would find his career at the United States Post Office. He worked at Newton Electric, where he met a lot of nice people. He worked at Best Buy in Watertown as a stock associate which he enjoyed, as it gave him a chance to get some nice posters and movie paraphernalia.

Jeffrey's most beloved job beside being a father and the Post Office was the TD Garden. He worked as a security guard there for 13 years, where he gained a bunch of nicknames including; OG, Triple OG, the singing security guard, Father time, and more. He enjoyed his time at The Garden where he most often served as security for the VIP club Legends. Many of the members said that he made it Legends with his spirit, kindness, and always singing and being in a great mood.  While one perk was that he got to enjoy many Bruins and Celtics games with friends and family, there was the added bonus that he was able to work alongside his daughter and his son, Trentis for many of those years. Many of those wonderful evenings concluded at their favorite bar, The Harp, singing with each other, and enjoying the long drives home afterwards. Memories that, while at the time seemed fleeting, now will be cherished forever.

Jeffrey found his career at the United States Postal Service where he worked for more than 20 years. He enjoyed that his job took him to many different office sites. He began as a machine tech at the plant in South Station. He moved to being a mail carrier for many years, until he eventually become a supervisor. He worked at many offices through his career; Malden, Medford, South Station, Somerville, Roxbury, JFK, Kenmore, Fenway, and finished his service at Back Bay. He would have retired from the post office in February 2027. He met a lot of good friends at the Post Office, people whom he could call at anytime if he needed anything.

Ever since anyone can remember Dallas Cowboys have been Jeffrey's favorite team. He was not a bandwagoner. He stuck with the Cowboys through thick and thin. He owned everything and anything that was made Dallas Cowboys. Just to say a few; many watches, a garden gnome, toaster, blankets, mini helms, mini choppers, socks, knifes, and many, many more. Jeffrey was a collector of many things; but Dallas Cowboys items were his favorite.

Nearing his last years of life Jeffrey enjoyed time with his children and his grandchildren. He enjoyed bowling, going to Canobie Lake on his birthday every year, being the life of the party when he went, and watching football. There was never a dull moment when Daddy/Granddad was around. He always made every moment fun and memorable.

Jeffrey was predeceased by his parents; AnnMarie Smith Marvel and Bernard Marvel.

Jeffrey leaves to carry on his legacy his wife of 26 years, Marilyn Angie Marvel, his children Trentis Marvel and Leila (Luis) Marvel-Hall, his bonus children Shawn (Leah) Sealy, and LaTrisha (Fredric) Sealy. His grandchildren Bradley Marvel-Hall, Simone Marvel-Hall, De'Aria Jones-Marvel, De-Arian Jones-Marvel, and D'Aria (Gracie) Jones-Marvel, Bryce Sealy, Jackson Sealy, Jordan Sealy, and Till and Sasha Niort. His siblings; Louise Marvel, Michael Marvel, Margaret Coleman, Hugh (Pamela) Marvel, and Shirley Goode. He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousin, and extended family and friends.

Jeffrey Alan Marvel aka J.A.M will always be remembered for his dry wit, dad jokes, kindness, beautiful voice, and love he shared with everyone.
