Obituary

Victor G. Forbes and Beatrice Anderson welcomed their son Jeffrey Arthur Forbes into their family on March 30, 1966 in Boston, Mass. Jeffrey grew up in Mattapan and attended Berea Church and Berea Elementary and Jr. High School, where he met Lisa, the love of his life, at 7 years old in 2nd grade. At only 6, Jeff tragically lost his dad. This led Jeff to become a man who deeply loved and valued his family and friends. He was there for his nieces' and nephews' talent shows, gigs and graduations.

Jeff's "Aunt C," Carmeta Samuels, moved in to help raise him after his dad died while his mom spent long hours running the store. When she died in 1993, Ellen Grant became "Ma," his surrogate mom. He loved her dearly.

A dad at a young age, Jeff worked hard to become the father he knew his sons deserved. Jeffrey was blessed to be surrounded by all his children the Friday before he passed. He considered them his greatest accomplishment.

Jeff graduated from Berea Elementary and Jr. High School and English High School. Proud of his Jamaican roots, he was passionate about music, dancing, clothes and the training he received in photography and film production at Madison Park's OSDC Program. Jeff loved all things Boston--the Celtics, Sox, Patriots, Bruins and even the New England Revolution! He loved the energy, people, festivals, and especially the Caribbean parade. For over 30 years, known as the balloon man, Jeffrey sold his character balloons from his vendor cart all over the City of Boston.

The story of Jeffrey's love for Lisa was the driving force in his life. In return, Lisa's unconditional love for him taught Jeff that you don't give up on love. When they married in 2022 it was the culmination of his lifelong dreams come true.

His time on earth now complete, Jeff leaves to mourn his loving wife Lisa, their children Brandon Forbes-Mills (Rebecca), Victor Coren-Forbes (Alyssa), Deondre Quenell Forbes, Liane D. Long, Robert Spenser Quarles and Quentin Victor Forbes; 13 grandchildren, adopted siblings Dawn, Emmanuel and Nehru; a host of family, godchildren and friends.
