Jeannette died peacefully on April 2, 2026, under the care of Hospice AccentCare at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She was the fifth of eleven children born to the late Deacon James Percy Sealey and the late Evangelist Lucille (Reese) Sealey. Jeannette was born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 17, 1955, and she grew up in the Dorchester neighborhood encircled by many family and friends.

Jeannette as a young child enjoyed attending the Pentecostal church with her parents and siblings. She had a joyous time at church listening to the preacher's fiery sermons and the gospel hymns that they sang.

Jeannette was educated in the Boston Public School System. She attended Jeremiah E. Burke High School for two years, then she transferred to Dorchester High School where she graduated with her high school diploma. Jeannette loved sports and while she was in high school, she participated in many sports such as basketball, softball, bowling, and badminton. Then after high school she joined the Columbia Point softball team, to stay active after work. Jeannette earned her associate degree in the early eighties from Mount Ida College. She later took classes through the Urban College Program, then transferred her course credits to the New England College of Finance where she graduated with her bachelor's degree.

Jeannette worked at various banks in Boston such as Shawmut, BankBoston, and Sovereign before she started at US Bank, where she worked for over twenty years as a Structured Finance Account Administrator. Jeannette absolutely loved working at the bank, helping customers research and solve their money issues.

Jeannette was always willing to help anyone looking for a job, especially if they wanted to work in the banking environment. Along with her banking career, over the years Jeannette worked at various part-time jobs where she met many of her long-time friends. She worked as a Dietary Aid, at the Mass Eye & Ear Infirmary; Unit Coordinator, at the Brigham and Women's Hospital; Salesclerk, at Macy's Department store; and a cocktail waitress, at Biff's Lounge.

Jeannette was a wonderful, caring, generous, motherly person, who had a low tolerance for nonsense. She was always available to give her advice to anyone who needed it. Jeannette got the opportunity to use her motherly skills when she became a second "mom" to her nephew, Alvin David Sealey, for eighteen years.

Jeannette's favorite thing to do was to plan her next trip or cruise. In the past she traveled to Portugal, Italy, London, Canada, Paris, Monserrat, Grenada, and especially Barbados. Jeannette and her companion, Radford, traveled to Barbados often, since he is a native islander, therefore Jeannette got to know many of his family, friends, and the West Indian culture.

Preceding her in death are two brothers, Alvin Sealey and David Sealey; two sisters, Audrey Sealey and Luzell Sealey; two nephews, Steven Louis Sealey and Alvin David Sealey; great-great nephew, Josiah S. Sayles.

Jeannette leaves to mourn her sisters, McLeod Sealey-Hite (Kenneth Sr.), and Lola Marie Sealey of Dorchester, MA, Diana Sealey of Moore, OK, Josephine Langham (Howard) of Bessemer , AL; brothers, Felton Sealey of Malaysia, John G. Sealey of Providence, RI; nieces, Sharon M. Flood (Morris) of Clarksburg, MD, Brandie Broglin of Brockton, MA, Sabrina M. Langham of Georgetown, TX, Audra J. Morris (Brandan) of Lynn, MA, Symone J. Langham of Fort Worth, TX; nephews, Curtiss Purinton of San Diego, CA, Kenneth E. Hite Jr. of Dorchester, MA, Dashawn D. Fennell of East Boston, MA; great-nieces, Rosandria Williams of Dorchester, MA; Leah M. Flood of Clarksburg, MD; great-nephews, Cashadous Pettway of Brockton, MA, Steven R. Sayles of Sanford, ME; great-great niece, Corin Michel Sayles of Sanford, ME and Rose Williams of Dorchester, MA; aunt, Luveta Sealey of Roxbury, MA; longtime companion, Radford Hinds; and a host of relatives and friends.
