Jean Moseley was born on November 30, 1935 to the late James and Viola Spivey in Richmond, VA. She was the youngest of five to their union. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris and Elsie (James): two brothers, Manross, known as Smook (Ruth Mae) and Louis: and one great-grandson, Miles Jr.

Jean was raised and educated in her native Richmond, VA. With the divorce of her parents during her high school years, times were very hard for the family. Jean sacrified high school to go out and work to help the family. Her mother struggled raising the family until she soon met and married a wonderful man by the name of Joseph Jackson. He was known to all as Mr. Joe, a funny man all grew to love who truly showed his love for the family right to the end of his life.

Jean met Cleotha Moseley, Sr. and they were lawfully wedded in 1967 in Boston, where they raised their three sons, Renard Spivey, Norman Spivey, known as Cubby and Cleotha Moseley Jr. known as Boo. Jean and Cleotha, known to everyone as Clea, were great parents who loved their family and worked hard to make a home for them.

She was truly the Matriarch of the family and everybody relied on her for everything. She always put God and family first, even before herself. She and her husband worked numerous jobs to survive, but it was hard without even a high school diploma between them. That didn't stop them and they made sure their children would grow up and have a better life than they did.

Jean worked hard, obtained her GED and earned a business certificate from OIC, Inc.

From there, she gained employment with the New England Telephone Company as an operator. Jean retired as a Service Observer after over twenty years of service. She was also a Fashionista with a great sense of style, who loved a bargain.

Jean was a devout member of Holy Tabernacle Church for over forty years, currently under the leadership of Bishop Dr. Arthur F. Jack and First Lady Angelia Jack. She sang with the Living Sanctuary of Praise Choir and the Women's Ministry choir, where she was the uniform co-ordinator, served on the Usher Board and was a member of NECUB.

Jean was an encourager and always had something good to say about those she encountered.

Jean leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Renard, Norman (Josie), and Cleotha Jr.; 11 Grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; One God-daughter, Arielle; a sister, Diane Norris; brother, Darryl Norris; sister-in-law Cynthia and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and her much beloved Holy Tabernacle Church Family and friends.
