Jean Charles
Innocent
Jun 7, 1979 — Sep 1, 2023
Mattapan
Jean Charles Innocent, lovingly known as Charles, was born in Point-a-Pitre Guadeloupe on June 7, 1979, to parents Marie Jacqueline Innocent and Joseph Charitable Innocent of Cabaret, Haiti. He was called to rest on Friday, September 1, 2023.
Jean Charles was a very loving son, brother, and friend to many in the Boston community. He immigrated to the United States with his parents and brothers at the young age of 6 and initially lived in Elizabeth, NJ before settling in the town of Dorchester, MA in 1987. As a handsome and athletic young man, Jean Charles was a great basketball player. After graduating from East Boston High School where he played for the school's team, he was recruited and received a scholarship to play for the Men's Basketball team at New England College in New Hampshire.
Jean Charles leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted mother Marie Innocent, his brothers Ronzard and Pascal Innocent; his sister Eunice Innocent; his nephews and nieces Jonathan Innocent, Pascal D. Innocent, Rayzhan Innocent, Kaziah Lucas-Innocent, Nathalie Innocent, Zoe Innocent; as well as a host of friends and family too numerous to count.
With his family, Jean Charles was a member of the Temple Salem Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was well known to all as a caring and sweet soul. Always with a smile, graceful and supportive to all. A devoted son, he spent the last weeks of his life taking great care of his mother. We loved him with all our hearts and will deeply miss his kindhearted soul.
Jean Charles is home, reunited with his father Joseph and brother Richardson. Go to the light Charles.
