Inez Eudora
Morris
Jul 28, 1929 — Jan 5, 2026
Inez "Sister" Eudora Morris, nee, Alleyne, 96, of Milton Massachusetts and Brooklyn New York, passed away peacefully on January, 5th 2026.
Inez was born in Endeavour St. James, Barbados on July 28th 1929, she was the second child of Fitz Herbert and Minerva Alleyne. Her sisters and brothers are Ernest, (late), Ulric, Norma and Cynthia. Enid and Michael passed away as toddlers.
Inez went to school at St. Silas and after graduating, went on to learn what was then called, "needlework," a seamstress. She made clothes for the people in the country and she also taught the trade to some of the people in the district.
Inez met (the late) Earl Morris and they were married in December of 1964, in Barbados. They immigrated to the USA in 1967 to make a home there. She continued to work as a seamstress for large manufacturing firms that did business with major retailers. Her specialty was men's suits, she also made dresses and wedding gowns for clients.
Inez loved to cook and bake, especially her unforgettable coconut bread and pone, which she would have learned from Barbados. She often shared her baking with her neighbours, which they love. Her food brought people together, filled homes with comfort, and and remains unforgettable to all who were blessed to sit at her table
Inez is survived by her two children, Kenneth Alleyne, and her dedicated daughter Tricia Powell, her son-in-law John Powell, her daughter-in-law Connie Alleyne, four grand children Kenya, Darian, Jada, and Jordan and two great grands Kai, and Kaili. Nieces: Janice, Eleanor, Kathy-Anne, Cindy and Nadia. Nephews: Hayde, Hadley, and Andy, and an abundance of family and friends who loved her dearly at home and abroad
The world is a sadder place without Inez in our lives. But Inez touched each and every one of us and has left us with memories we will cherish forever.
