Hermina
Francois
Oct 28, 1965 — Jun 1, 2025
Hermina Francois passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, after a courageous battle with leukemia. A devoted mother, beloved sister, cherished aunt, and loyal friend, Hermina touched the lives of all who knew her with her warmth, strength, and resilience. Hermina was a longtime resident of Boston, Massachusetts, where she built a life of purpose, hard work, and deep family devotion. Before making Boston her home, she grew up in the village of Moore Park and later lived in Providence/Paix Bouche on the island of Dominica, a place she always held dear in her heart. The true light of Hermina's life was her two sons, Chard and Donnel, whom she raised with unwavering love and dedication. Her fierce determination and work ethic were matched only by her nurturing spirit and infectious laughter. Hermina is survived by her devoted mother Eugene Matthew, her loving sons Chard and Donnel Leblanc; their dad Arthur; her sisters, Shallyn and Hermine; her brothers, John, Leonard, Henderson, as well as Wayne and David in Canada; her sisters-in-law Oyan and Eugenia; her brother-in-law Ziggy; her uncle Martin; her Godfather Sonoy, and her God children Dalton and Erlisha. She also leaves behind a loving extended family including cherished cousins: Julien, Madonna, Melanie, Maria, Shirley, Christian, Mathius, Mitchell, Vilna, Medrick, Jessica, Foster, Corinthia, Donovan, Anita, Maymont, Fitzroy, Vyline, Bilary, and Tin-Tin. Her memory will live on in her many nieces and nephews, including: Ann-Marie, Breanna, George, Denroy, Britania, Dartanian, Jayquan, Alanna, Malia, Xavier, Xandra, Dayton, Dayla-Rose, Dayja; and in her second cousins: Rashawn, Rashaud, Aaiden, Sherina, Mariah, Precious, Christian Jr., Martin, Raphael, Mitchell Jr., Mishurn, Lauren, Isaac, Naomi, Shaun, Damian, Shanan, Damesha, Anique, Michael, Iam, Samora, Amos, Marie, Melissa, Suanne, Marvin, Jason, Alicia, Myasha, Kyle, Marquis, Elise, Royelle, Faith, Lamarr, and Malaika. Hermina's circle of love extended far beyond bloodlines. She is also survived by her dearest friends Helena, Yessica, Wendell, Chloe, Florence, Sharon, Ann, Delia, and Winnie in the US , as well as Jackie, Fred, Nathalie, Johnie, Anthony, Apolina, Matthew, Eric, Ronald, Hermina, Elizabeth, Curel, Arandel, Fostina, Laura, Rose, Sharon and the entire Providence community in Dominica. Hermina will also be remembered by the Francois and Matthew families of Paix Bouche, Moore Park, Thibaut, Penville, and Bense, along with many other beloved relatives and friends in Dominica, Boston and beyond, whose lives she touched deeply. Though her physical presence is gone, the legacy of Hermina's love, strength, and unwavering devotion to family will continue to inspire and guide us.
