Henry Jones Jr. was born on August 7, 1952 in Augusta, Georgia. He was the first born of Mamie and Henry Jones Sr. Shortly after his birth, they relocated to Boston, Massachusetts. Henry successfully graduated from Jamaica Plain High School in 1971. After doing so, he worked full time for the Polaroid Corporation. He moved on to join the Chelsea Fire Department in 1987.

During his time with the Chelsea Fire Department, he helped save countless lives and received many accolades. In 1995, then Governor Weld presented him with the highest firefighter honor of the Medal of Valor. Henry retired from the fire department in 2006 after 19 years of fearless service. He was assigned to Engine 3 at the time of his retirement.

Henry was preceded in death by his beloved siblings Arthur Jones and Catherine Jones. Henry leaves behind five children, Angela Brittle, Mark Griswold, Damon Adams, Jonathan Johnson and Anthony Bonner. Four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Parents Mamie and Henry Jones Sr, brother Melvin Jones, sister Michelle Jones Nunes (Robert), Latricia Bell and Reginald Bell. A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as extended family members.
