Henry Louis Johnson, age 81, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of love, strength, and perseverance.

Henry was born in Uniontown, Alabama, to the late John Johnson Sr. and Beatrice Johnson. After graduating from high school, he set out to build a new life and eventually made Boston, Massachusetts, his home, where his sisters Mary and Beatrice were already living. There, he established deep roots, built lasting friendships, and devoted himself to his family.

Henry entered an intern program to become a boilermaker, working in shipyards and commercial buildings. He later secured employment with H.C. Burke & Company and Olivodoti Company, where he worked faithfully until his retirement from Olivodoti Company in 2016.

He met and married his beloved wife, Barbara, in 1979, and from that union they were blessed with one daughter, Monique, who will forever treasure his unwavering love, guidance, and support.

Henry was a faithful member of Charles St. AME Church, where he served in the Richard Allen Brotherhood, the Richard Allen Brotherhood Men's Choir, and the church food pantry.

In his spare time, Henry loved working in his yard, planting his annual vegetable garden and flowers. He looked forward to the warmer weather and the opening of barbecue season. He also enjoyed talking and socializing with family, neighbors, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his siblings John Johnson Jr., Mary Tulloch, and Peter Johnson.

He leaves to mourn his sisters Beatrice Brown and Viola Baker, and his brothers Cashus Johnson (Kay) and Earl Lee Johnson, along with a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Henry will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, and steadfast spirit. His life was a testament to hard work, resilience, and dedication, and his presence touched all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he will be deeply missed, the love he shared and the values he instilled will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

As we mourn Henry's passing, we also celebrate a life well lived—a life marked by love, faith, and enduring commitment to those he held dear. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved him, and may he rest in eternal peace.
