Hazel Nellie
Bacchus
Jan 8, 1963 — Oct 10, 2023
Hazel Nellie Bacchus passed away on October 10, 2023, following an extended decline in health. She was surrounded by her loving family, friends, and hospital caregivers during the last days of her life. Born on January 8, 1963, Hazel was raised and educated in Boston, Massachusetts. She would remain there her entire life. Hazel worked with the Massachusetts Health PCA Program for years until 2022 before her health began to deteriorate. She said what she meant and meant what she said. She was fiercely loyal when it came to her family; for us she was a confidante and a cheerleader. She is survived by her son, Shakeeb Chin; her siblings: Michele Bacchus-Myers (Chris), Adam White, Jr., and Tyrone White (Corrine) ; her uncle: Mark Bacchus; two aunts: Jeannette Sanders and Letha Webb; former daughter-i n-law Aziza Wilkerson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends. Hazel was preceded in death by her mother Marlene White; her son Kevin Bacchus; her sister Elizabeth White-Burwell; her grandmother Nellie Hazel Bacchus; her cousin Herbert (Herbie) Bacchus; uncle Clayton Bacchus; and beloved aunt Jeannette Brewington. There are no words to express the sense of loss we feel in Hazel's passing, but we know she is at rest now among all those who preceded her. There is no pain , no suffering, and no fear. For those who believe, we know we will see Hazel again one day.
In Jesus' name. Amen.
