Obituary

Harold Francis Perry Jr., affectionately known as "Junie", passed away suddenly on June 27, 2025, in Boston, Massachusetts, at the age of 72.

Born on February 28, 1953, in Barnstable, Massachusetts, Junie was the beloved son of the late Mary R. Perry and Harold F Perry. A lifelong resident of Boston, Massachusetts, he was known for his strong work ethic, vibrant personality, and deep-rooted connection to his community.

Junie dedicated over 25 years of his life working as a maintenance technician for Warren Gardens Cooperative, where his commitment and craftsmanship left a lasting impression on colleagues and residents alike. Even in his later years, he remained active and industrious, always willing to lend a helping hand—especially to those he loved.

A familiar face to many, Junie was well-known around the Blue Hill Ave neighborhood, where he proudly served as the unofficial parking attendant of Adrian Street. He enjoyed trading and bartering with locals, socializing at the corner store, and faithfully playing the daily numbers game. He was always in the know, someone who carried the heartbeat of the block with him wherever he went.

Junie is survived by his son, Harold Perry III, of Haverhill, MA, and his granddaughter, Jael Perry. He also leaves behind his siblings: Catherine Perry, Margaret J. Perry, and Allyson L. Perry. He was predeceased by his brother Melvin Perry and sister Mary E. Perry. He also leaves the mother of his child Maria Perry to cherish his memory.

Junie's legacy continues through his 13 nieces and nephews, and 13 grandnieces and grandnephews, all of whom will remember his warm presence, sharp wit, and generous spirit. He was stubborn but kind-hearted, always willing to share what little he had if it meant helping someone else.

In honor of Junie's life and the many people he touched, the family invites all who knew him to take a moment and remember his laughter, loyalty, and love for community.
