Harold R.
Brown
Apr 2, 1933 — Apr 19, 2025
Harold R. Brown was one of five children born to Grace Winslow and Horace Brown, on April 2, 1933, in Cambridge, MA. After having spent several years in a nursing home with failing health, and later dementia, he was called home to be with the Lord on April 19, 2025.
As a young man, Harold was a free spirit. As a teen, he met and married the late Juanita Frances. All of his life he was a kind and giving person, ready and willing to help whenever he could.
Harold was educated in the Boston school system. Upon graduation from high school he worked in many different areas. He was a man who learned by doing. Harold's last job before retiring was with the Urban League Senior Program.
Twenty years prior to being moved to a nursing home, Harold lived in Council Tower in Roxbury. While there, his greatest enjoyment came from being able to use his cooking skills. He prepared meals for his fellow residents for holidays or just to get people together. If someone could not get up to the penthouse to pick up their meal, he would gladly bring it to them.
Harold became a member of Myrtle Baptist Church in 2005 and soon became engaged in the Men's Ministry. He co-chaired the Prison Ministry along with assisting on the grill at church barbecues.
Harold will be missed by his daughters Kimberly, Toni and Tina; two grandsons and one great-grandson; sister Elaine Hudson and long-time companion June Lowe. He was predeceased by his siblings Raymond, Jean and Richie.
Rest in eternal peace, Harold, until we meet again.
