Ethel M. Campbell, a trailblazing soul born on May 7th, 1933, in Ridgeland, South Carolina, embarked on a remarkable journey that defined resilience, dedication, and unwavering love for family. The daughter of the Late Deacon Ellis and Lucinda Campbell, Ethel was surrounded by love from the very beginning, growing up alongside seven siblings who formed the tapestry of her early life.

In her twenties, Ethel set forth on a courageous quest, traversing various states in search of a new home for her beloved children. From the sun-soaked landscapes of California to the enchanting beauty of Seattle, Washington, and the vibrant pulse of Chicago, Illinois, she explored before finding her heart's home in Boston, Massachusetts. It was there that she anchored her family and planted roots that would grow strong and deep.

Ethel's spiritual journey was woven into the fabric of her life. In the mid-1960s, she found solace and community at St. John's Missionary Baptist Church, lending her voice to the Gospel ensemble and later gracing the Senior Choir with her presence. Her faith was an anchor, guiding her through life's ebbs and flows. In time, she became an integral part of Bethel Baptist, dedicating over two decades of service to the congregation.

A testament to her unwavering work ethic and commitment, Ethel dedicated a lifetime to service. Her legacy of hard work was etched in her tenure of over 30 years at University Hospital and nearly two decades with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Her exceptional abilities, coupled with her gift for fostering relationships, earned her the esteemed title of Employee of the Year at both institutions.

On December 17, 2023, Ethel answered a divine call, hearing the voice of the Lord proclaim, "The battle is over, and the victory won! Come on home." As she transitioned from this life to the next, Ethel reunited with her parents and siblings who had gone before her.

Ethel's legacy lives on through her cherished children: Anthony (Karen) Campbell, Cynthia (Robert) Offley, and Janice (Larry) Smith.  She leaves behind a legacy of love that extends through generations with four grandchildren, Michael Campbell of Atlanta, Yvette (Nadine) Motten, Anthony (Casey) Yancy, Tanzania Campbell, Rasheed Campbell, and Tikia Campbell, along with thirteen greatgrandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

In the hearts of her surviving siblings, Erdell (Frank) Holmes, Beatrice Tyler and as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, Ethel's spirit remains vibrant—a beacon of strength, resilience, and boundless love. Her life was a symphony of perseverance, faith, and selflessness, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Ethel M. Campbell's earthly journey may have ended, but her legacy of love, dedication, and unwavering strength will continue to resonate through the lives she touched. She rests now in eternal peace, her spirit forever soaring among the stars.
