Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" Reed was born on August 7, 1935, to the late Addell A. (Lopez) and Richard A. Reed, Sr. She was the 8th of their children. Betty was educated in the Boston Public Schools and graduated from The Girl's High School in 1954. She then enrolled at the Booth Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. After graduation she was employed at the Allerton Hospital in Brookline, MA as an Operating Room Nurse. Her nursing career continued until her retirement.

Betty dedicated her life to God and the Salvation Army for 45 years of service and she eventually retired in June of 2000. After moving back home to Roxbury (her beginning) she avidly served at the Kroc Center for 22 years until her declining health forced her to permanently retire.

Betty leaves to mourn a large loving family along with a host of friends. Her love for God was evident in the way she always spoke of His goodness in her life, and her faith carried her through many trials and tribulations.

She continually thanked God for allowing her to serve Him through The Salvation Army.
