Dreama Mae (Wooten) Brooks was born on May 25, 1941, to the Fairest Holme Wooten and Mae Belle Flood-Wooten in Killarney, West Virginia. She was the youngest of 10 siblings.

She graduated from Byrd Prillerman High School in 1959. Dreama soon relocated to Boston to join her siblings, Smiler and Delbert. Shortly after, she met her future husband-to-be, Billie Brooks, at a party for West Virginians. She became a teacher at Rosa Parks Daycare. Later, she worked as a telephone operator at the New England Telephone Company.

While she worked at the New England Telephone Company, she performed a solo at the company's talent show. She wore a royal blue taffeta gown made by her sister, Smiler and she sang very well. Over the years Dreama worked as an administrative assistant at Creative Distributors. She attended Roxbury Community College and received a certificate of completion.

On April 27, 1963, the couple got married and welcomed their child Billy Jr, in September of that year. In September 1966, they welcomed their new addition, Danita to the family.

Dreama was a stay-at-home mom raising her children and babysat for many friends and family. Dreama enjoyed listening to her music on cassette, radio, and

8-track. Some of her favorites to listen to were Minnie Riperton, Etta James, Stephanie Mills, Diana Ross, Chaka Kahn, Bonny White, Jill Scott, and Sade. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, reading, shopping, dancing, and going to the hairdresser.  Dreama loved going to Clambakes, pitching horseshoes, and playing cards, with her family.

Her favorite TV shows were Good Times, Sanford & Son, Golden Girls, the Jeffersons, Oprah, and Steve Harvey and Family Feud.

Dreama always took time to make the drive to Malden and Leominster to spend time with her grandchildren. She loved to cook homemade apple pie from scratch and would make the best Bundt cake ever. Sundays were the best because you could smell the breakfast cooking before you would wake up. The gospels would be playing on the radio W.I.L.D.

In 2007 she retired from Boston Park Plaza for good, having more time to spend with her family. In 2008 life started to change for her.

Eventually, she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. From then on, her husband Billie took care of her until June 2023 when she was hospitalized and relocated back home.

This led to her being placed in hospice home care, which allowed the family the opportunity to provide around-the-clock care for her. On September 30, 2023, Dreama departed this earth peacefully with Danita and her granddaughter Lauryn by her bedside. She is preceded in death by her husband Billie Brooks Sr., (mother) Mae Belle Wooten, (father) Fairest Wooten, and her siblings Sturgis, Vernard, Delbert, Kenneth, and Oretha.

Dreama is survived by her children, Danita and Billy Jr. Grandchildren: Xenia, Billy III, Kevin, Gia, Ria, Olivia, and Lauryn. Great grandchildren: Janelly, Rihanna, Aliyah, Josiah Jr., Major, and Zyaire. Siblings: Novella and Smiler. She will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
