On February 17, 1936, God blessed the world with the life of Doris Ann Brown, born in Boston, MA, to the late William and Ruth Cavil. On March 13, 2026, she peacefully returned to her Creator, completing a life marked by grace, humility, and unwavering love.

Doris walked through life with a servant's heart. Educated in the Boston Public Schools, she carried her warmth into every role -whether working in insurance, guiding young children as a teacher's aide, or offering kindness and care at the Fields Corner Community Health Center. Her purpose was simple and profound: to uplift others.

A faithful and longtime daughter of the Historic Charles Street A.M.E. Church, Doris served joyfully in the Sarah E. Gorham Women's Missionary Society, as a devoted Class Leader and the Big Sister program. Her spirit was anchored in faith, and her favorite reminder to others was, Be humble, not proud or boastful.

In 1955, Doris married Chester D. Brown Jr., and together they built a loving family rooted in faith, travel, and encouragement. Doris poured belief into her children and grandchildren, urging them to grow, explore, and rise.

Even in her later years at St. Joseph's Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, her light never dimmed. She welcomed new residents with a smile, earning the affectionate name "Mother Brown." She embraced the community as her own, and they embraced her in return.

Doris leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humility, and love. She is cherished by her devoted husband Chester; her children Denise (Perry), Chester III (Zina), and Renee (Ronald); her grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, a host of family, missionary sisters and friends. Doris was preceded in death by her brother William Cavil Jr.

Her life was a quiet testimony of faith. Her love remains, her lessons endure, and her spirit continues to shine in all who knew her.
