Obituary

Donna Marie Jones was born on February 10, 1967, in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Lillie Mae and Charles Jones Jr. She was raised in Boston's South End, where she formed lifelong friendships and became known for her vibrant spirit, quick wit, and infectious smile. Donna loved playing spades, a pastime that reflected her sharp mind and lively personality. Whether around the card table or surrounded by loved ones, she had a remarkable way of making everyone feel at home. Donna was a proud graduate of Boston High School. Above all else, she was a devoted and loving mother to Mario T. Jones and Octavia D. Jones. Her children were her greatest pride, and nothing brought her more joy than being "Gigi" to her beloved granddaughters, Arayah and Kamoira, whowere the light of her life. Donna is survived by her loving siblings: Renea Duran, Terrance Jones, Maurice Jones, Alicia Jones, Crystal Jones, and Charles Jones. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Mary "Lizzy" Jones. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish the love and laughter she brought into their lives. To know Donna was to love her. She was genuine, outspoken, and unapologetically herself. If Donna said it, she meant it, and those who knew her appreciated her honesty as much as her sense of humor. She never waited for an invitation—if family or friends were gathering, Donna was already on her way, ready to brighten the room with laughter, stories, and unforgettable moments. To many, she was affectionately known as "Aunty Donna," a title that reflected the love and admiration so many had for her. She had a special gift for bringing people together, lifting spirits, and turning ordinary moments into cherished memories. Her warmth, generosity, and joyful presence left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we take comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind. Donna's legacy is one of love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear, and she will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
