Obituary

Reverend Dolores "Dee" Allen Thomas, 88, of Surprise, Arizona, passed away on March 7, 2024. She was born on April 28, 1935, in Mount Olive, North Carolina. Dolores, a devoted Christian and Prayer Warrior, was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, and Friend. She was also an esteemed Educator, Minister, and Counselor. Dolores "Dee" is survived by her children: Donna Allen, April Allen Jackson, and Ivy Garry; grandchildren: Mia, Keenan, Adea, April, Christopher, and Courtland; great-grandchildren: Nina, Keyana, Jiel, Lyndsay, Keenan Jr., Jamir, Taylan, Ja'Don, Kalaya, and Jaleel; and siblings: Virginia, Roscoe, Dwight, Tyrone, Pamela, and Darryl. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nina Pearl and Roscoe Thomas; husband, George Allen Sr.; sons, Gregory and George Allen Jr.; and siblings, Ross Earl, John Wayne, Louis, Kenton, Doris, and Shirley. Dolores was a Nursing Assistant at Coatesville Veterans Hospital from 1966 to 1982, a Teacher Coordinator at Shaber Learning Center in Los Angeles from 1982 to 1984, and a SPED Teacher at Boston Public Schools from 1984 to 2003. She worshiped at Morning Star Baptist Church in Mattapan, MA, and Grand Community Baptist Church in Surprise, AZ. Dolores enjoyed walking in beautiful Arizona, reading her Bible, praying for her family and friends, and watching football and basketball games.
