Dennis migrated to the US in 1973, settled in Boston with his mother and siblings.  He received a certificate in Electro-Mechanic from the Comprehensive Employment Training Program, but later changed his focus and joined the Boston Police Academy in 1983 then left in 1985.  He moved onto various other positions and his last formal position was at the Boston Public Health Commission where he also received various certificates of achievements.  He was skilled in assembling computers and could build them from scratch.  He was experienced in reading electronic diagrams through computers and had knowledge of every part of a PC board.

As young man growing up in Trinidad, he was known to have a great sense of responsibility and very pleasing disposition.  According to one of his high school teachers, "He was respectful, diligent and thoughtful with a great sense of responsibility".  He took the Cambridge School Certificate Exam and received three GCE certificates in 1970. His favorite sports were football, soccer and basketball. In addition to sports, he enjoyed music, old school reggae and soca and one of his favorite artists was George Michael.  During his trip to China, the Chinese people thought he was "Michael Jordan", and kept asking for his autograph, after a while, he just stopped correcting them and went with the flow and enjoyed thecelebrity status.  He enjoyed watching sports with his friends, especially watching football with his best friend and brother, David Morson.  In addition, he loved long distance road trips.
