Perrington-Pina
Jul 18, 1967 — Aug 23, 2025
The sixth of seven children, Denise Marie Perrington Pina was born in Boston, MA on July 18, 1967 to Lucy Mae (Harrell) and William Alfred Perrington. Upon graduation from West Roxbury High School in 1985, Denise attended Roxbury Community College and Boston University where she earned her BS in Business Management.
The mother of one, Denise gave birth to her only son, her sun, moon and stars, Kevin Perrington-Turner in Boston. After working as a payroll specialist with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for more than 30 years, Denise retired and relocated to Atlanta, GA where she married the love of her life David Sterling Pina in 2024 and began a second career at Clayton County Public Schools.
An avid sports fan, Denise loved to cheer for the Red Sox and Celtics and was thrilled when the C's brought home their most recent championship in 2023. Denise was a kind and gentle soul who's laughter filled every space she entered. She had a passion for reading, 80 and 90's R&B music, traveling, and trying new restaurants especially seafood. A fashionista, Denise also loved to clothes shop. She loved bright colors, her favorites being yellow and orange.
After an extended battle with breast cancer, Denise transitioned from her earthly home to the Great Beyond where she was welcomed to eternal peace by her parents and brother William Perrington Jr. on Saturday, August 23, 2025. In addition to her son Kevin and her husband David, Denise leaves her siblings Antonio (Monique) Perrington of North Carolina, Cornell Harrell of Virginia, Donnell Perrington, Lionel Perrington and Debbie Perrington all of Massachusetts to fondly cherish her memory. In addition, she will be missed by brother-in-law Richard (Yolanda) Pina of California, sister-in-law Sandra Pina of Georgia and dear friend Aquanetta Biggs-Herron along with a host of relatives and friends. Rest well, TeeTee!
