Daisy Mae Taylor, 79, of Providence, Rhode Island, passed away on December 25, 2023. She was born on April 8, 1944, in Dearing, Georgia, to the late Georgia Johnson and Grady Rodgers. Daisy was warm, engaging, and a lively woman who loved her sons, God, and family. She was saved at an early age and was a member of St. John's Baptist Church in Roxbury. Daisy absolutely loved to read the Bible, watched Christian sermons on television, and was a prayer warrior. Her laughter would light up the room, she always dressed stylishly and was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Daisy is survived by her son, Antonio Taylor, grandson Antoine, granddaughter, Tierra Freeman Taylor and her husband Leonard Taylor; her granddaughter Jessica Freeman, great grandson Cyncaari Taylor; nephew James Johnson; nieces Georgia Terry, Johnnie Hamilton-Mason, Dorothy Cheek, Linda Johnson and Mary Colwders . Daisy also had countless other nieces, nephews; extended family members including sister in law Mary Johnson of Dearing, Georgia and Jimmy Johnson of Harlem, Georgia and friends.
Daisy received her GED and valued education. She worked in various roles at Honeywell. In her free time, she enjoyed talking on the phone with her friend Doris Radden, reading the Bible, and occasionally attending casino shows. During the latter part of her life she enjoyed riding her motorized wheelchair, socializing with neighbors and tinting her hair vibrant colors.
Daisy Taylor will be remembered for her uplifting spirit, unwavering faith, and love for her family. May her soul rest in peace.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Freeman, and her siblings, Ezell Johnson, Susie M. Gant, Annie Hamilton, Willie L. Johnson, John T. Johnson, Grady Johnson Jr., and Lula M Johnson.
