As a lovely flower displays its beauty, then vanishes, leaving remembrance of its majestic qualities, likewise we pause to celebrate the life of Cornelia (Connie) E. Rose.

Cornelia Edna Rose died peacefully with family at her side on March 27, 2026, she was 84. Born with quiet strength and grace, Cornelia was known for her devotion to family, her kindness to others, and her steady presence in the lives of those who knew her. She valued tradition, community, and meaningful connection, and she will be remembered for her warmth, dignity, and enduring love for her family.

Cornelia is survived by her beloved family, who will forever cherish her memory, husband Irving T. Rose of Dorchester, MA, four children, Anita D. Rose, Lawrence T. Rose, Lisa L. Rose, and Kiesha M. Rose. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Jarrett T. Rose and Brett T. Rose, whom she adored. She was predeceased by her parents Lawrence L. Harris and Anna P. Harris and infant daughter Christina Rose.

She was an only child born to the parentage of the late Lawrence L. Harris and Anna P. Harris on April 28, 1941, in Grottoes, VA. The family moved to Boston in the late 1940's where Cornelia attended First AME Church of Roxbury and received a certificate. She met Irving Rose during 1959, and they were married on December 5, 1959. They were united in holy matrimony for the past sixty-six years; five children were added to this union.  She received a high school diploma from the Boston Central Adult High School on April 11, 1961.

Cornelia attended the LA Newton School of Beauty Culture from 1971 to 1973. In 1975 she began work as a Nurse Aide at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center for the Aged in Roslindale, MA. She was promoted to a Nurse Assistant in 1991, upon completing a certification at the Youville Hospital and Rehabilitation Center School of Practical Nursing on December 14, 1990.  She continued working at the Rehabilitation center until her retirement in 1993. Her enthusiasm for life was evidenced in her cheerful smile and encouraging words which exuded joy with her family and friends.  As a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Cornelia was a caring person, who was a source of strength and inspiration.  She simply loved people and will be missed.
