IN LOVING MEMORY OF

Constance Ann

Burton

Obituary

Constance Ann (Washington) Burton was child 10 of 11 of the parents of Warren Benton and Pauline Stanley Washington of Roxbury, Massachusetts.

Constance, also known as Connie, attended the "Hyde School" on Hammond Street in Roxbury, Mass.

At an early age Connie married Matthew (Sonny) Burton and from their union they bore three children, Jacqueline Marie, Valerie and Matthew Burton.

Constance Ann Burton, a proud Boston native and a woman who lived life on her own terms passed away Monday, May 12, 2025, at the age of 75.  Known to many as the life of the party and never one to hold back her opinion, Connie was old, vibrant and unapologetically herself.

Born and raised in Boston, Connie graduated from school before embarking on a long-dedicated career in the medical field.  Her compassion for others, sharp wit, and unmatched work ethic made her a force among her colleagues and a comfort to countless patients over the years. Connie retired after decades of service, leaving behind a legacy of care and commitment.

Approximately 10 years Connie was her mother's caregiver, dedicated without a fault.

Outside of work, Connie was firecracker.  Her laugh could fill a room, and her blunt honesty often shocked as much as it delighted.  Whether hosting a party or showing up fashionably late with a bottle in her and, she had a way of making every gathering unforgettable.  Connie told it like it was, danced like no one was watching and loved with fierce loyalty.

Connie is preceded by her daughter Valerie Burton Paige. She is survived by her Jacqueline Burton (Ricky Boone) of Waldorf, MD; Matthew Burton (Tasha) of Lynn, MA (Tyisha Burton, Desire and Darnell Jr). Granddaughter Shakira L. Burton Denby (TeeJay) of Framingham, MA (Khalil B. Lewis, Ty'Shawn Denby, Tyleeq Denby)

Connie also leaves sister Ophelia Sowers of Brighton, MA; brother Albert J. Breeden, jr. (Sandra) of Dorchester, MA; Sister Linda Washington of Anderson, SC.

A host of nieces, nephew four generations deep, cousins in various states and pleather of friends.
