Clarence Vaughn Wilder passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024, in Boston, Massachusetts. He was born on August 22, 1953, in Arcadia, Florida to Flossie & Grafton Rolle.

Clarence was a widely known and admired practitioner of Uechi Ryu Karate Do.  He began studying in the late 1960's at the Mattson Academy at 3 Hancock Street, Boston.  Karate quickly became a focal point in his life and he spent most of his free time at the dojo.  He was an accomplished tournament fighter and ran the All-Okinawan Karate Championships tournament for many years.  Clarence became a popular instructor at many schools in the area, and operated his own dojos in Boston, Wayland and Natick.

He held a multitude of jobs throughout his life; like working at American Built Rite out of Cambridge, MA, the Ritz Carlton as a sou chef and at the John Hancock as a Computer Operator. He was most known for and most admired for his job working for the State of Massachusetts as a Chief Court Officer of the Essex Superior Court from 1985-2024.

Clarence enjoyed listening to Willie Neal & Gospel Keynotes, fancy dinner with loved ones, and believe or not talking on the phone. He was devoted to reading the Masonic Ritual to the point he was able to open and close the Lodge without assistance. Clarence was with Hiram Lodge 14, and he loved nothing more than selling the Annual Boat tickets to anyone he came across. He took his Masonic obligations to heart and would visit the sick and shut in by all means. Clarence loved his German Shepards so much they were all named King (to signify the day in which he brought the first one home Martin Luther King Day). He also enjoyed passing time by going to Lawson Barber twice a week up until Covid. He would spend several hours there socializing with his Barber Sam who he considered a Father.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents Flossie & Grafton Rolle, and a sister Jacqueline Rolle. He leaves to cherish his memories his siblings Wendell Rolle, Carolyn Jones (husband Dexter), Dwayne King, and Stevie Rolle. His great friends/Masonic Brothers: Gerald Fowlkes and John Raymond Taldon. They were considered the Three Musketeers as when you saw one the others were always nearby. He also leaves Bea and Charlotta, who he considered extra mothers, and they would receive at minimum 2 calls every day. With a special place in his heart, he leaves Warren Kerr and Shelley DeJarnette (self proclaimed daughter), as well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family, friends and his beloved students.
