Chiquitera Adams

August 1, 1956 – March 12, 2026

Chiquitera Adams, age 69, of Boston, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at Massachusetts General Hospital on March 12, 2026.

She was a woman of strength, resilience and warmth who touched the lives of many.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 1, 1956, Chiquitera Adams was the beloved daughter of the late Sylvia Mae Pryor and Jerome B. Wallace (J.W.). She was also one of a set of twins. Her twin sister passed away at birth.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her oldest daughter Daune Anita Adams (Nay-Nay), her beloved "baby girl" Sylvia M. Cross (Tremayne Cross), twin granddaughters Maria and Marina Perez,  and granddaughter America Belle Cross.

She is also survived by an aunt, Nancy Norflett, an uncle, Robert Adams, six brothers, Calvin Green, Sr., Robin Adams, Charles Townsend, Sr., Richard Pryor, Minister Donald  Irving Pryor (Delanie), and Darren Pryor (Marlene); and one sister, Maureen Adams-Jean, all of whom she loved very much; as well as a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins and friends, whom she filled with love and joy.

Chiquitera was educated at the Dillaway School for Girls and the Timothy School. She later began her working life at the Veterans Hospital (VA) as a file clerk, where she showed dedication and pride in her work.

She was active in her younger years and enjoyed running track. She had a vibrant spirit and a love for life's simple pleasures – she loved watching wrestling and movies, cheering for the New England Patriots, playing Bingo, doing arts and crafts, and spending time with animals, which she adored. She also found joy in helping others and bringing happiness to those around her.

Known as the light of any gathering, Chiquitera brought laughter, energy, and love wherever she went. She overcame many obstacles and health challenges throughout her life with courage and determination, until God called her home, bringing her peace and freeing her from pain and suffering.

One of her greatest joys was being present in the life of her youngest granddaughter, America Belle Cross (ABC), a role she embraced wholeheartedly. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.  She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
