Chatiese Y
James-Peek
Jul 20, 1989 — Aug 1, 2023
Boston
Chatiese attended Cobbett Elementary School and graduated from Lynn Vocational Technical Institute in Lynn, MA. She also attended Westover Job Corps in Chicopee, MA.
While here in the physical body, Chatiese enjoyed her life by listening to a variety of music including old-school R&B to the grittiest artists in Hip-Hop. Her appreciation of music was beautiful to see. Chatiese was a true lover of the culture; her love for NYC and her taste in sneakers expressed that. Her KOTD were always some of the most fly kicks around. She was a trendsetter with sneakers among her family and friends. Chatiese also enjoyed watching sports, especially basketball. Her all-time favorite player is Allen Iverson. As a lover of fashion, she always made sure her glasses were "on point". She also enjoyed bowling, watching scary movies, sharing funny memes, watching reality television, and sending messages about the episodes.
She never claimed to be a gourmet chef however Chatiese's children, niece, nephews, and close friends want it to be known that she made the best meatloaf, cheesy potatoes, ribs, fried chicken as well as barbecue chicken in her nephews' honest but biased opinion. Her niece loved her auntie's fried pork chops. In true Chatiese fashion, she put her spin on hamburger helper. Kamryn said his mom makes the BEST pancakes and sausages.
Chatiese made friends everywhere she went. She was known for her bubbly personality and her million-dollar smile. Chatieses's smile could light up any room.
Her sense of humor and her slang and way of saying things always made for a good conversation and laugh.
On July 19th, 2012, Chatiese became the proud mother to her son Kamryn who she lovingly called her "favorite son". She gave birth to her "favorite daughter" Javalli on December 12th, 2018. She loved her children fiercely; they meant the world to her. Chatiese took pride in making sure her children looked good and their sneakers were fresh of course. What she was most proud of was her children's academic success. She made sure Kamryn maintained perfect attendance and was an avid reader. During covid, Chatiese was so proud that Kamryn attended all remote learning classes. She also helped Javalli learn the alphabet and to read and she also introduced her to the Chinese and Spanish languages. Chatiese was very proud of Kamryn moving on to middle school, becoming a preteen and Javalli receiving a special scholarship at her school. Chuck E Cheese and Applebees were special places to her and her children as well as going to the movie theater. After going on a date with her beloved children she often finished the day with a trip to Target for a treat. Kamryn will miss eating plain vanilla ice cream and watching movies at home with his mom. Javalli liked it when her mom painted her finger and toenails pink because pink is her favorite color.
Chatiese had an incredible work ethic although she had a few jobs throughout her life. She is known for her commitment to Dunkin Donuts. She was employed with the company for several years. She was a dedicated and reliable employee and coworker.
Chatiese has many best friends; she had a special way of connecting with those she loved and creating a special bond. She could show love, roast you and crack a joke at the same time and you knew it came from a place of love.
Chatiese is preceded in death by her father Frank James and the man she lovingly called "dad" Kenneth (Junie) Loftman. She is survived by her mother Connie Peek, her son Kamryn James-Carter, daughter Javalli Peek-Lawrence, older sister La Toya Peek, her niece Midori Peek, and nephews Elias and Xavier Peek. She leaves a host of cousins, extended family, and dear friends to cherish her memory.
