Charles E. Dawson is the eldest child of Eva and James Dawson. Mr. Dawson was born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 12, 1927. He received his education in the Boston Public School System. At the age of 5, Mr. Dawson joined Twelfth Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. William Hunter Hester.
Mr. Dawson served his country as a staff Battalion Sergeant during World War II and the Korean War.
He was employed by the Department of Public Works for the town of Wellesley, Massachusetts as an assistant traffic mechanical engineer and union president.
Mr. Dawson served as a member of the original Security Team, the Senior Usher Board, the Transportation Ministry, the Thrift Shop and as a Boy Scout Leader. Mr. Dawson was the founder of Veteran's 60+. He held leadership roles with AARP, Amvets' and Health Disparities. He also served as an EEO Compliance Officer for the City of Boston, a Constable and a Deputy Sheriff.
Charles and Mollie Dawson were united in marriage in 1964. They are the proud parents of two daughters, Linda and Paula. They are blessed with fourteen grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren.
Serving as a role model and a father figure, he was often referred to as "Dad' by family and a host of young people. He is a true man of faith.
His favorite saying is "Every day is a BONUS".
