Charleen Choice was born on February 21, 1968, in Waterbury, CT.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Burkes Patterson, and father, Charles Choice.  Charleen grew up in Boston, MA, where she attended and graduated from Dorchester High School.

On July 6, 1996, Charleen married Johnny Thompson in Dorchester, MA.  She attended Boston University Metropolitan College and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice.  She used her degree as a Residential Counselor at the Coolidge House, a residential reentry center for formally incarcerated people. She enjoyed music, dancing, traveling, and spending time with her beloved sister-friends.

Charleen was called home on August 22, 2024. She lived her life to the fullest and was beloved by all those that she let in her life. The family asks that you honor her in some way in your own everyday lives.

She is survived by her only daughter Shaniqua Choice (Joaquin Thomas), sister Felicia Choice, brother Rashaun Burkes (Danielle Burkes), granddaughter Justice Thomas-Choice and grandson August Thomas-Choice, niece-in-love Renee Cobb and family, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
