During holidays and or vacations her children would travel to Puerto Rico to be with her or she would return home bringing gifts and foods for the family and friends. After a number of years ,of service , the family sponsored her and thus she received her green card and moved to Boston where her cousin Gertrude and other family members resided. Once established in Boston her children Freeston and Joan joined her and her family was reunited. Carmen first worked at Keystone Corporation then at Polaroid Corporation in Cambridge and Norwood from where she retired. Her hobbies were gardening, cooking, photography and playing the lottery. Carmen's life has been one of sacrifice , love and generosity not only for her family but those she cared about.
