In Loving Memory of Beverly F. Abbott

Beverly F. Abbott was our Wonder Woman. A strong, compassionate and faithful mother, the matriarch of our family passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 13, 2024, at Boston Medical Center.  Born on August 10, 1931, in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Julia Goosby and is preceded in death by her brother, Lewis Goosby Jr.

Beverly attended the Boston Public School System and later Clerical College in Boston. She enjoyed a long and distinguished career at Gillette Razor Company, retiring after thirty-five years of service.

As the matriarch of our family, Beverly embodied strength, independence, and unconditional love. Following the death of her husband, Joseph Abbott, of 40 years she led our family with grace and resilience. She was our superhero, showcasing heroic values through her actions and her unwavering support.

Beverly had a remarkable memory and entertained us with stories, often infused with her unique perspective. For the latest "Abbott News," one only needed to call Nana; she cherished her weekly Sunday calls with her grandchildren and her beloved friends, Marie, Jeannette, and Cousin Lois.

She leaves behind her children: Joanne Bellizeare (The late Adolph Bellizeare),( The late Joseph Abbott) Francine, (Roberta) Jerry Blanton, (The late Sharon Abbott Chatman) and George, Cheryl (Tommy Royal), Keith Abbott, and Julie Abbott Kent (The late William Kent). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Sean, Corey, Peter, Brittany, Joseph, Jibril, Sabrina, Nicole, Brandon, Robyn, Georgie, Jeremy, Kayci, Lena, Tajon, Ricardo, and Christian, along with nineteen great-grandchildren, one nephew, Greg Goosby, her beloved "Tip," the Philly Crew, her Cape Cod family, She-She, and a host of family and friends.

Beverly will be greatly missed. She epitomized class, elegance, and charisma, lighting up every room she entered. She loved to travel, bowl, sports and listen to music, especially Gregory Porter-often with "Insanity" playing in the background. Most of all, she was fiercely protective of her "kids," using her gold bangles as symbols of her love and strength. "Don't talk about my kids," she would say, always ready to defend those she cherished.

Our favorite lady will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever live within us!
