Betty Jean Johnson known as "Nannie" to her family and Friends was born on August 9, 1949 in Reform Alabama to Parents Johnie Mae king(mother) and Alexander Owens(father), both deceased. Betty met her husband Jimmy Lee Johnson and the 2 formed a union on November 6, 1968. From this union they created 5 beautiful children Jerry Wayne Owens, Marvin Lee(deceased), Margaret (deceased) Adam and Kesonya. Betty (Nannie) and Jimmy were what some would call a power couple even though "Nannie" called all the shots lol...their love for each other was forever lasting of 57years.Betty adored Jimmy & everyone knew this especially when she would call out his name from across the room and he would hear it no matter if there was music playing or the television blaring from her favorite tv show.

Betty was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Betty attended some school however, "Nannie" had a purpose in life much stronger that she adored more than anything & that was raising her children not just her own but her siblings and all of her grandchildren and lets not forget she raised her friends children as well. Betty had a heart full of unconditional love for her family this is what she enjoyed the most." Nannie" is the definition of the life of any party, whatever room she stepped in she owned it to the fullest and you knew her presence when she just stood tall with her hands on her hips then you knew she meant business lol! betty loved to dance, cook& gamble whether it was at a casino or at home with her family and friends. "Nannie was strong, stern with no filter on her mouth lol... but most of all she was everyone's support. Betty loved holidays her favorite one was" Thanksgiving" she lived for this day she said its "a family day for love & laughter". Betty had 1 wish before entering the gates of heaven that was that she has her big Thanksgiving family dinner like she always does every year. God granted her that wish and then it was time for her to depart in peace the day after Thanksgiving.

Betty is survived by her husband Jimmy Lee Johnson. Her children: Jerry Wayne Owens, Marvin Lee Johnson (deceased), Margaret Johnson (deceased), Adam Johnson, and Kesonya Johnson. Her siblings: Robbie Fisher (deceased), Willie Spencer (deceased), Estella Egeston, Jimmy Anderson Owens Jr and Emily Ann Owens. Her grandchildren: Shikya Johnson, Ashley Small, Daniel Johnson, Kirwin Johnson, Shaquille Johnson, Keyatta Johnson ,Johnelee Beitez ,Jamre Williams, Jayla Williams, Zahira Trammell, Adam Manzia (deceased), Steven Jarred, Margaret Owens, and Jerri Owens.
