Augustus "Gus" Peltier, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, with his devoted wife Grace by his side. Just hours before his passing, he shared a tender farewell with his cherished sister Pauline—a moment of comfort. His transition was gentle, dignified, and surrounded by love.

Born on May 28, 1936, Augustus was one of four children of Albert Ety Peltier and Geraldine Felixia Peltier—Viella Prevost (deceased), Flaubert Peltier (deceased), and Pauline Peltier Coulter. He also had an older sister, Eugenia Peltier, on his father's side. His early years in Pointe Michel, a village in Dominica shaped his deep sense of community, storytelling, and devotion to family. Under the loving guidance of his grandmother, Louise De La Marre, he learned the art of gardening and the beauty of simple living. His time with the Boy Scouts instilled in him the enduring values of service, discipline, and respect for others.

As a young man, Augustus  moved to Aruba, where he reunited with his parents and discovered his lifelong passion for mechanics. Known for his vibrant spirit—often seen driving his hot pink and black sedan—he worked tirelessly and learned the craft that became his career. He also found joy in playing the guitar, taking photos and being the life of the party.

His journey later took him to England and then to Boston, Massachusetts, where he joined his siblings Flaubert, Pauline and  his aunt, Evy King  In Bostron, Augustus became the playful uncle who taught his nieces and nephews to ride bikes, drive cars, and fix anything with his signature creativity. In 1972,  Augustus married Grace Warner, his lifelong partner and fellow Pointe Michel native. Together, they raised two children, Leo and Nicole instilling in them a love of service and education.

For over thirty years, Gus worked as an auto mechanic at Frost Motors Cadillac in Newton, earning respect for his reliability and kindness. He delighted in sharing treats, building go‑carts, and playing guitar for his grandchildren—Jurnee, Phoenyx, Isaiah, and Nicholas—passing down his love of family, faith, and culture.

In his later years, even in assisted living, he still tried to live with optimism and dignity. He is survived by his wife Grace, sister Pauline, children Leo and Nicole, their spouses Latoya and Kito, and grandchildren Jurnee, Phoenyx, Isaiah, and Nicholas, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends across the U.S. and abroad. He is preceded in death by his brother Flaubert Peltier, sister Viella Prevost and his parents Albert and Geraldine Peltier.

From Pointe Michel to Boston, Gus lived a life of resilience, passion, and service.
