Reverend Herold Paul Antoine Aubourg was born on August 9th, 1959 in Les Anglais, Haiti to Mr. Francois Dumesle & Mrs. Gabrielle Mondiere Aubourg. Born in a devout Catholic Family, he was involved in many church related activities. His parents raised him to love art, music, family, and to be a respectable young man. As a young child his love for singing and dancing were evident. He became quite known in the neighborhood for having perfected his James Brown dance moves. An athlete also, Rev. Herold played soccer, as well as intercollegiate competitive volleyball in High school. A studious and disciplined scholar, he attended College Classique D'Haiti, and completed his secondary level studies in Haiti, before immigrating to the U.S. on  May 13th, 1977.

Upon arrival in the United States, he joined his mother, older brother Jean Arthur, and older sister Marie Joseph, who were already living in Boston , MA. Rev. Herold immersed himself in politics, civil rights and social justice activism, art and culture. He almost immediately became involved in advocacy work for other migrant families, work which he continued for the rest of his life. At the age of 17, Herold was hired by Benjamin Franklin Printers in Boston, the only employer he ever worked for. He matriculated through the company, remaining with the company until he retired in 2019.

He began his collegiate career taking courses through correspondence, toward a civil engineering degree, while living on St. Botolph street, in the heart of Back Bay, in Boston. Awarded a Scholarship, He then enrolled at the esteemed NorthEastern University, where he earned his B.S/B.A in Accounting. It's while attending Northeastern that he was invited to a revival by friends, from a student-led campus fellowship. That one invitation changed his life. It was at that revival that he surrendered his life to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Within months, Herold's passion for God blossomed. He became a soul winner, even leading friends, and family to the Lord. He subsequently became a Youth and Young Adult Leader at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, in Boston MA.

While enrolled at Northeastern, Rev. Herold 's love for community, and music collided when he became a DJ on WRBB, the university's radio station.  He absolutely loved becoming a radio personality, getting involved in the local music scene, connecting with the community and being part of amazing musical events. He eventually settled into being a Sunday morning host on the station for nearly 2 decades, playing Gospel music, his absolute favorite. As he embraced his faith all the more, Rev. Herold joined the New England Mass Choir, one of the joys of his early days as a Believer. The choir became an extension of his community, and he built life-long relationships, as a result.

Herold's progress in ministry blossomed at Ebenezer Baptist Church, eventually resulting in going through the minister's training program. Remaining connected to campus ministries at Northeastern, Rev. Herold  joined the African Student Fellowship in 1991. The group grew rapidly, and was the catalyst for global ministry connections for many young leaders who were activated, and discipled through the ministry. During his time as a leader in African Student Fellowship, he met the love of his life, Rev. Rose Aubourg. For the next 32 years their life, love and ministry together became a lighthouse for nations. Rev. Herold's highest calling was to his family. His love for his wife and children was unparalleled. He believed in honoring God, by honoring his home.  Rev. Herold was a global citizen. He was affectionately given the name "Kalonji" by his Congolese family, A Baluba name that he truly embodied. Rev. Herold was a true Congolese warrior. He travelled the world for the sake of the gospel. Along with his wife, he preached the message of life and hope to hurting, and broken people everywhere. Together they pastored  Masterpiece Praise & Worship Church Int'l, headquartered in Boston, MA., a community that became his family. They planted churches in Congo, DRC, in Libreville, Gabon. With a heart for various people groups, Rev. Herold was a beloved friend, and ally to Brazilian, Korean, Indonesian, and Hispanic faith communities.

Rev. Herold had a true father's heart. He believed that love, consistency, presence and a loving home could heal even the most wounded of hearts. Along with his wife, they took in 42 children through the Homes For Little Wanderers Program, as emergency foster parents. It was not uncommon for a child in need to be brought to his home in the middle of the night, in desperate need of care. His exceptional service and commitment to helping children was recognized by the State of Massachusetts, and the Aubourgs were awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award for their work as foster parents. He loved being a father, and made room in his heart for so many sons and daughters who became part of the family.

Over the years, Rev. Herold has spearheaded and has been part of numerous groups, and organizations that centered around unifying the body of Christ. He fought and labored to see lines of separation between denominations, cultures, races, nationalities and genders come down. He sowed his life in prayer to see revival in New England, and around the world. He believed that God was raising up a remnant of bold Believers, who carried the true heart of God. Rev. Herold was not just loved by his community and his natural family, but he was so loved by his "Family of Choice", especially his MPWCCI church family. He was not just their Pastor, but the Father and grandfather for so many. He helped to build families, support dreams, and raise up effective and compassionate leaders. A spiritual father and god-father to many, his legacy of service, faith, and love will live on in all who knew and loved him.

Rev. Herold was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Francois Dumesle Aubourg (Gabrielle), siblings Louis Marie Aubourg, Judith Aubourg, Stuart Aubourg.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rev. Rose Aubourg, his daughters Amelia Aubourg, Nicole Aubourg, Shaina Aubourg who are all of Boston, MA, Danielle Kayembe of Portland, Oregon, and Dr. Nancy Joy Dozier (Pastor Eric Dozier) of Atlanta, GA, his siblings, Jean Arthur Aubourg (Mrs. Faith Carter Aubourg) of Newport News, VA, Mrs. Marie Joseph Ruff ( Mr. Clifford Ruff) of Hyde Park, MA, Mr. Ronald Audain Aubourg ( Mrs. Mitza Lormeus) of Brooklyn, NY, a host of beautiful nieces and nephews, and many beloved cousins.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
