Antonio G. D'Wolff, affectionately known as "Nico," was born on June 6, 1935, in Havana, Cuba. He was the son of Antonio Dulfo and Manuela Goicochea, both of whom preceded him in death. He spent his early years in Cuba playing baseball and was even presented with the opportunity to become an international professional baseball player. Instead, he chose to come to the United States in pursuit of greater opportunities.

Nico joined with his wife Edna D'Wolff and immigrated to the United States in 1959, where he built a life centered on family and hard work and made Boston his home. He worked in the food industry for many years, including with Coca-Cola and later at Northeastern University for over 20 years, before retiring. After retiring, he followed his passion for music and spent several years working as a bouncer at a club, where he was surrounded by the energy and rhythm he enjoyed most.

Above all, Nico was a man who exuded happiness, cared deeply for others, and gave generously. He had a deep love for music—especially salsa—and could often be found listening to music in the park, attending concerts, and dancing. He enjoyed dressing well, with guayabera shirts among his favorites.

Nico kept a journal documenting his collection of records and carefully recorded every concert and show he attended. When he first arrived in the United States from Cuba, he came with a suitcase full of latin music— and no clothing—reflecting just how central music was to his life. These passions were more than hobbies; they were how he connected with others and expressed joy. He also enjoyed visiting his local public library, where he spent time reading newspapers and history books, and engaging in conversations about current events. Nico carried the heart and spirit of Cuba with him wherever he went, sharing it through music, laughter, and dance.

Nico cherished his family deeply. He is survived by his children, Antonio D'Wolff, Jr., Barbara D'Wolff-Mark, and Ramon Fontes, and was preceded in death by his children Susie D'Wolff and Sissy Fontes. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews, including several with whom he shared a uniquely close and loving relationship: Jasmin Mark, Ramona Fontes, Alisha, and Rodney Marcus Williams. Nico leaves behind his beloved sisters, Esther Veliz and Teresita Goicochea, and his brothers, Tato D'Wolff Goicochea, Eloy Goicochea and Cecilio Goicochea . He shared a special bond with his sister-in-law, Teresa Torres, and his niece, Georgina Veliz-D'Wolff. He was preceded in death by his sister, Caridad Dulfo Goicochea.

Nico passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, and his memory will continue to live on through the love he shared with family and friends, as well as the rich Cuban roots and music that were such a vibrant part of his life.
