Anthony Edward Hyatt was born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 3, 1960.  He was the third of 4 children born to Thelma and Edward L. Hyatt, Jr.

As a youth, Anthony practiced the Catholic faith.  He was baptized for the first time, received his First Holy Communion and his Confirmation at St. Angela's Church in Mattapan, Massachusetts.  At St. Angela's Anthony was an Altar Boy and a Boy Scout.   Although Anthony would grow up to excel at another sport, at first, he was passionate about hockey.  He played hockey for many years, courtesy of having an MDC Rink in the backyard when he lived in Franklin Field.

Prior to high school, Anthony attended Catholic schools and would later switch to Boston public schools where he graduated from Hyde Park High School.  By high school, Anthony developed a passion for basketball.  Anthony played basketball for Hyde Park High as a shooting guard.  He led his team to win the state championships at Hyde Park High School.   After high school, Anthony followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, father and brother by Anthony joining the U S Army.  He was discharged honorably from the Army in 1983.

After serving in the military, as a civilian, Anthony held various jobs until he landed a job he enjoyed most, working with youth.  Anthony was well suited for this position because he loved mentoring and coaching youth, whether he was paid or not.  Anthony was baptized for a second time, in the name of Jesus.   He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal Savior under the leadership of Bishop BF English of Bethlehem Healing Temple.   Anthony was a member of New Life Christian Church under the leadership of Bishop Dr. Orlando Harris.

Anthony departed this life peacefully on Saturday, September 30, 2023.  Preceding his death are his grandparents, his mother Thelma Hyatt, his brother, Bryon Hyatt and his niece, Dwauna Arlysa Hyatt.  Mourning his loss is his daughter, Talia Hyatt, his grandchildren, Riley, and Ryan; his father, Edward L. Hyatt, Jr; his sister, Jennetta Hyatt-Tinsley (Benjamin); his brothers Dwayne A.P. Hyatt and Vincent Hyatt and a host of other family and friends.  Anthony's final resting place will be the National Military Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts
