Annette Dawn Cummings was born August 18, 1945, Port of Spain General Hospital to Lance Gay (deceased) and Eureka Niles (deceased). She was born and raised in Trinidad & Tobago where she met and married the love of her life, Philbert R. Cummings July 1959. She had and raised her children back home until 1971 when she left and moved to Boston, Massachusetts to start creating a new life for her children. In 1979 Annette was able to bring all her children to America where they lived out the rest of their days.

Annette was the mother to four beautiful children, Gail D. Cummings, Philbert Cummings Jr, Erica I. Cummings (deceased) and Jillian J. Cummings. Annette wanted the best for her children and worked very hard to provide and give them all a great life.

Annette had a career in health care, working at City Missionary of Boston Massachusetts where she was employed as a home health worker. In 1999 she began her career as an Administrator at Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center where she worked for over 20 years. She was a dedicated employee who was always helping those in need. The staff and patients adored her, and Annette adored them.

Annette loved to cook; her saying was "food is never a problem for me".  Anytime she cooked she would always call family members to let them know "come get a plate I finish cook something." Annette will be remembered for her fried bakes. She made THE BEST fried bakes in Boston. If she had her flour and strength, she would whip up batches just because and go "well guys I made some bakes might not have anything to go with it but help yourselves to some butter or cheese in the fridge." Annette LOVED her sports, she could give you a play-by-play rundown of every single game she's watched whether it was basketball, baseball, or football without you even asking. You would always know it's game time because, she would go "alright I got to go my game is on" or she would slip away into her room without anyone noticing until you heard cheering or clapping coming from her room. She was and will always be Boston's #1 fan and sports reporter.

She was preceded in death by her husband Philbert R. Cummings.

Annette was survived by many who loved and cherished her. Grandchildren Darius P. Price, Takiyah R. Cummings, Chanel J. Cowan-Cummings, Nerissa F. Trotman-Cummings, Marquise R. Cummings, Abygail J. Rudder and Charshara R.K. Harris; Great-grandchildren Daijon P. Price, Erica K. Cummings, Ta'Leek M. Hall, Destiny C. Price and Adonis A. Rudder-Cameron; two brothers-in-laws Ellis (Glenda) Cummings and Everald (Rosalynn); preceded in death by her two sisters Roslin and Annmarie and one brother Horace; survived by three brothers James, Martin, and Basil, three sisters Janice, Janet and Lucille; One honorary son Shurland Bootman, and one honorary daughter Felicia Van Allen, and a host of extended family and close friends.
