Andrew Lee Luckey, a longtime resident of Mattapan, departed from this life on May 28, 2025.  Known to most as "Andy", he was the 7th of 12 children born to Clarence and Tempie (Robinson) Luckey.  Andy spent his formative years in Emelle, AL and moved to Springfield, MA after he graduated from high school in 1953.  He eventually enlisted in the Navy in 1955.  Andy was based at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, and honorably discharged from the military in 1958.  He returned to Springfield and then moved to Boston in 1962.

A chef by trade, Andy worked in many culinary positions at country clubs and restaurants around the metro Boston area.  A quiet man who spoke as he deemed necessary, Andy was known for his wit and sharp sense of humor.  He cared deeply for others and used his talents as a chef and an interest in carpentry to positively impact his community.

One of Andy's greatest accomplishments was his 63 year long marriage to his wife, Margie.  They were soulmates and best friends who shared a love of family, friends, and ALL New England Sports teams!  In more recent years, Andy was known for his love of classic western movies and television shows, smooth jazz, and playing solitaire on his card table that sat right next to his recliner.

Andy was predeceased by his two oldest children, Donnie and Shari Corprew; both his parents; 8 siblings and their spouses.  Their names were Arthur Luckey, Robert (Louise) Luckey, Eldora (Henry) Hinton, Rogers (Lois) Luckey, Arvenia (Oscar) Bell, Clarence Luckey (nee), Arthur Jones, Laura (Ollie) McQuarley, William Moore, and John (Catherine) Luckey.  Andy was also predeceased by his mother in law, Minnie Brock; brothers in law, Raymond Corprew, Edward (Barbara Jean) Corprew, Johnnie Corprew, and sister in law, Carolyn Corprew.

Mourning Andy is his wife, Margie; his daughter, Andrea Armstrong (Kyle) of Atlanta, GA, and grandson LeAndre Corprew, who affectionately called Andy "Buddy Ole Pal".  Other grandchildren include Kyle-Simone, Kahllel, and Halle-Marie Armstrong along with Gabrielle Nicole Forte.  He also was great-grandfather to Prisca Dumornay. Surviving siblings include Hattle Jones of Springfield, MA; Mattie Moore and Albert Luckey (Helen) of Chicago, IL.  Lastly, Andy leaves a host of nieces and nephews, extended family, and close friends that are saddened by his death but celebrate the life that he lived.
