Beloved mother of Rev. Dr. Carl B. Thompson and Julian A. McNeil Loving grandmother of Saige M. Thompson and Mariah Redfern

Alison C. McNeil was born on May 19th, 1950. She was the only daughter of Marion Evans and Ruby L. Evans. She grew up on Alaska Street in Roxbury, MA, for many years. The community was a tight-knit community during these years. Alison attended elementary school at the Sarah J. Baker School, middle school at the Oliver Wendell Holmes School, and high school at Hyde Park High School. She later graduated from Northeastern University's Medical Technology program with an associate's degree.

Alison enjoyed the arts and reading, appreciated the finer things of life, loved music, appreciated all types of exposure, liked staying informed through the news, and enjoyed socializing; however, she was extremely private. She had a great sense of style and an eye for fashion. She loved colors, especially orange, which was her favorite. She was chosen right after high school as one of the few women of color to be accepted into the elite Bloomingdale's fashion program in New York City. Her mom did not want her to go to New York and get lost in the fast-paced city, so she declined the acceptance.

Alison had a terrific spirit, loved life and living, and had a tremendous work ethic. She believed in being punctual. Alison loved colors, which represent her colorful life and personality.

She worked in many hospital laboratory settings over time, including working with many people from Boston University Medical Center, Mass General Hospital, Boston University, &

Joslin Diabetes.

Alison was raised in a devout Christian family home. She understood that knowing Jesus Christ and passing those virtues onto her children were paramount. Alison was an extremely classy lady who walked with integrity and principles. She thoroughly enjoyed being a mother and a grandmother.

Toward the end of her life, the last five years were a battle with Ovarian Cancer, and she fought the disease hard with dignity and grace every time she went to the hospital for visits and for treatment. She always walked into the hospital with her head held high, well-dressed, and determined. She was determined to live until God called her home. Her faith remained strong until the end, and ultimately, she knew she would be in the Lord's hands.

She leaves to mourn her two sons, Carl B. Thompson and Julian A. McNeil; her granddaughters, Saige M. Thompson and Mariah Redfern; a host of other relatives; three first cousins, Charles F. Lloyd, Dennis Lloyd, and William E. Pratt; her best friend in life, Alicia Thompson; and a host of extended family members and friends.
