Constance Elizabeth Jones Diggs was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on July 16, 1944. She was the fourth of five children born to Viola Key Campbell and Ralph Campbell. Her siblings included Gertrude Fullwood, Ralph Campbell, Diane Adams (Gerry Adams), Leslie Campbell (Jenetta Campbell), and Deborah Trotman. Leslie Yvonne (Williams) Adamson was born in the Orchard Park neighborhood of Roxbury on July 15, 1952, to Theola (Young) Williams and Robert Williams Sr. She was preceded in death by her six older siblings: Anita Williams, Jean Brinson, Barbara Garrett, Robert Williams Jr., Carol Brown, and Marie Evans.
