Bernard was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on October 18, 1928 to the late George A. and Anne E. Gill. He was the last survivor of their 6 sons George, Calvin, Melvin, Hugh and Clarnece Gill. He was raised in New York where he graduated from Chelsea Vocational High School in January 1947.
Bernard was married to the late Audrey (Ragland) and they had a daughter, Beverly.
He worked for B.F. Goodrich in Watertown, MA for 19 years. He worked and retired from Boston Edison where he was employed as a Steam Engineer for over 30 years. He was an avid boxing fan and an amateur boxer for many years. Later in life he became a karate instructor and held his own classes.
Bernard is survived by his daughter Beverly L. Gill of Stoughton and 2 stepdaughtersTresza Jones and Debra Anderson of Boston. He is also survived by his nieces Beverly Gill Saunders of North Carolina and Karen Gill of Florida, his nephews Mark and Paul Gill of New York, cousin Fred Goodridge of Brockton and a host of other nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
We will all miss Bernard dearly, but we know he is at peace.
