Tiescha Quatez Hunter

Tiescha “Tye” Quatez Hunter was born on July 22, 1971 in Boston, Massachusetts to Guan Ellerbe and George Chatman, both of Boston, MA. She departed this earthly life on Tuesday, July 24, 2018.

            Tiescha grew up in Mission Hill and on Shawmut Ave, in Roxbury, MA. As a teen, Tiescha loved being out and about on the scene with her friends living her best life. She graduated from Charlestown High School in 1990. After high school, Tiescha worked at various jobs within the City of Boston.

            Being the oldest grandchild on her maternal side, Tiescha was beyond spoiled and everyone’s baby. Tiescha comes from a large family on both sides and was truly loved by all. Tiescha loved talking about any and everything and could talk forever. However, whenever asked how she was doing, her favorite saying was “I’m good.”

Tiescha loved to shop and attending her children’s performances--whether it be sporting events or dance recitals. Cooking shows, football (while screaming at the TV), and Power were some of her favorite things to watch. The highlight of her day and the loves of her life were her children. She was very proud of them and all of their accomplishments. Tiescha was funny, blunt, stubborn and feisty until her last breath.

            Tiescha leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Guan Ellerbe of Boston, MA; her father, George Chatman, of Boston, MA; her husband, John Tibbs, of Boston, MA; her grandmother, Theresa Chatman, of Boston, MA; her children, Tyquan Hunter, Mylan Lee and Datrell Jones, all of Boston, MA; her stepchildren, Samiyah Tibbs of Florida; Johnniesha Tibbs and Khalid Hylanton, both of Boston, MA; her grandchildren, Adriel and Amiya Hunter, both of Boston, MA; her siblings, John and Regina Hunter, Shannon and Tiffani Bowman, Joseph, George, Kimberly, Genesis, Trinity, and Justice Chatman all of Boston, MA; Gianni Chatman of Georgia; Charlie Pinjertong of  Virginia; and stepsister Carla Smith of Boston, MA; several nieces and nephews and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
