Sister Virginia M. Mulhern, of Boston, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2018. She was a dedicated member of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur for 71 years and served as a Pastoral Minister. Loving daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine (Curley) Mulhern. Sister of the late Lucien OFM (Thomas) and John (Emmett) and his wife Michelle. Beloved aunt to Jonathan and Brendan and grandnephew Edward. Virginia was raised in West Roxbury, a graduate of Notre Dame Academy, Emmanuel College, and the University of Notre Dame. She taught students in Waltham, Somerville, East Boston, Tyngsboro, and served as Pastoral Minister in East Boston, Revere, Jamaica Plain and Roxbury. Her many years of ministry involved fearless advocacy for Justice and Peace issues. Her family and her Sisters of Notre Dame along with her parish community will welcome people to St. Mary of the Angels Church in Roxbury on Wednesday, August 15, from 10 AM to 11:00 with a Prayer Service at 11:00 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30. Internment Private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, 30 Jeffreys Neck Road, Ipswich, MA 01938.
