Mary A. Roy-Morgan 84, passed peacefully in her home on January 8, 2019 surrounded by her family. Mary’s journey began on December 31, 1934 in Bluefield, West Virginia, born to her late parents Samuel and Esther Hairston. Her early years were spent in Jersey City, New Jersey where she then moved to Boston, Massachusetts, and spent most of her life. Mary retired as an LPN, working at Brigham and Women's Hospital for 35years. Mary first wed to the late Otis L. Roy, in holy matrimony and shared 7 children. She joined hands later in life to Mr. Freddie Morgan where they shared 27 years of marriage. She was a member of the Boston Mass Brigades and Elks Lodge of America. She spent most of her time volunteering for the Housing Committee for the Elderly planning and preparing to make a change. Mary is predeceased by 5 siblings and enlightened to join the late Samuel and Joe Hairston, Inez Walkins, Patricia Baskin and Lenora Mason. Mary is survived by her spouse, Freddie Morgan, 3 siblings, Orlando Hairston, Iris Brown, Brenda Reddick, 7 children, Yvonne, Louis, Bernard, Denise, Phyllis, Phillip, Michael, 1 son in-law Dana Raines, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, nieces, nephews and many beloved family members and friends.
